The reeds used in this instrument are Binci Professional - the highest quality reeds made by Binci. They were used as a bit of an experiment but do seem to contribute to the quality of the sound of this instrument, which has been described as mellow, rich, precise and sonorous. More than one has described it as sounding ‘old fashioned’!
