BRIGGS ACCORDIONS
lancashire
The BRIGGS accordion is a 2-voice diatonic instrument designed for players of traditional music. The action is designed and engineered to be extremely fast and smooth which, when combined with Italian ‘Antonelli’ reeds of the highest quality, ensures a most responsive and easy to play instrument.

Each instrument is totally hand-made as an individual one-off, being specifically matched to a player’s specific requirements. The following are the main features of the BRIGGS accordion:

Compact design, with bellows dimensions of 150mm x 270mm;

Twenty three treble and eight bass buttons;

A Mano (hand-made) blue edge nostrino reeds by Italian reed makers ‘Antonelli’. The
instrument is available in B/C, C/C#, C#/D, D/D# and D/G. Other tunings are also available.
It is also possible to order the instrument with a spare set of reed blocks supplied in a small  flight case. These are easy to put in the instrument, for example to convert it from concert pitch to Eb;

Only specially selected and seasoned woods are used in the making of the accordion. The reed blocks are made from sycamore and walnut. The accordion body and keyboard are made from one single board of American black walnut;

Smooth, fast and silent action using stainless steel torsion springs, levers from high grade aluminium alloy and phosphor bronze bushes for longevity. The button height and spring tension are made to suit the preference of the individual player.
